You thought it was just another scary costume worn by someone on Halloween and nothing more. It looked authentic that’s true, but so do all the good ones. When you walked past the guy you didn’t give him a second glance. Even when he stopped and asked you for help you just laughed in his face and said that he had a nice costume. You just kept on walking like you always do, ignoring everything going on around you. When you saw the news report the next day of a man brutally murdered after he pleaded for help from passerby traffic and no one stopped to lend a hand, you froze in terror. That was no scary Halloween costume. That man asking you for help was attacked and near death and you had the audacity to laugh in his face and tell him that he had a great costume for Halloween. How selfish are you? If you just thought about someone else for once in your life other than yourself it might help. What if that was you? Wouldn’t you hope someone would stop to help save your life? Of course you would. You need to change your ways and your life.
